Every now and then I like to pop in and remind everyone about how powerful affirmations are. Sometimes, I’m asked, “can you actually visualize yourself well?”
On vacation in London last month I was feeling unwell. In fact, I felt like I was coming down with something. Aches, congestion, it was happening just as our London vacation was kicking into gear.
So what did I do?
I used affirmations and visualization. I believed I was healing. I visualized it. I sent healing white light coursing through my body. I made positive, affirming statements just like the ones in my healing affirmation deck. (After all, I DID write them…)
Later in the day we attended Evensong at St. Paul’s Cathedral. The church was beautiful. The organ and choir inspiring. But I still felt unwell. We left a bit early.
Back at the hotel, I had another session with affirmations and visualization. Again, I sent healing white light through my body.
The next morning, I felt fine.
Just saying.
Can you visualize yourself well? I don’t know. I just know what happened to me.
To get your own deck of healing affirmations for the ridiculously low price of $14.95 order here. And this week, free shipping on all printed materials and gift packages–all this week!
That IS a ridiculously low price for the possibility of having the same experience I had. I am not promising you’ll heal. Or have the same experience I had.
But I am saying that, for sure, it can’t hurt.
My friend Barbara that I referenced in this week’s blog post taught me meditation and how important our thoughts are. I have tried to be positive when things get tough in my life, but this is a great reminder.
A good mindset is so important. If you can’t imagine yourself getting better, you won’t.
We and our thoughts are so much more powerful than we know. Thanks for the reminder. I need to stay conscious of this message as I struggle through a maze of health issues right now.
I haven’t thought of doing this before but I will now!

I strongly believe our attitude and thoughts determine our health, Carol. My Mum had breast cancer for 10 years, with endless rounds of chemo and radiation therapy. She had an inner faith and also a positive outlook. Always ready to help others even when she wasn’t feeling so well. Such an inspiration to me and a wonderful role model.
I’m a big believer in the power of visualization and affirmation. There’s nothing as miserable as being sick on a trip. I also put a dab of Thieves Oil on my wrist every day and I swear it keeps me healthy.
Very interesting! Our minds can be amazing things for sure and can help with our health
It’s amazing how much our minds can help play a part in our health. I loved this article!
Yes I think healing can happen in the mind. I know there are medicines out there to help us but if you think of sickness you will stay sick so we should affirm healing in our minds too.
Sometimes I do find if I think myself better I do start to feel better. It must have something to do with positive thinking x
This is a really interesting read. Mind controlling body is difficult to do but it’s really exciting. This is a very helpful blog post. Thanks for sharing 🙂
That healing affirmations look like a good option to have. Being visualise yourself seems sometimes a big deal.
Positive self talk really does work. Negative self talk is the opposite. I really know from experience.. it works
I’ve never considered being able to visualize yourself well. That’s a fascinating concept.
Healing affirmations are the best. I discovered them a couple of years ago when I was dealing with a tremendous menstrual pain. At least now, I know how to end it.
I am a firm believer in the mind controlling the body. I feel like if you have a positive attitude you can overcome so many things including illnesses.
I’m a huge believer in the power of the mind so Go you! Great work. If we all spent a little more time loving ourselves with light we’d be much healthier 🙂
I simply cannot express how much I agree with this! So glad it happened to you! There’s nothing worse than being sick on the vacation you’ve been planning for months . . .
I think there is something in positive thinking, the mind is very powerful, and the more you think positive the more it can work. Glad it helped and you managed to enjoy your trip x
I really believe in the power of the mind to heal the body to a certain extent. There’s a reason that doctors always say that patients should try to keep a positive attitude. The mind is a powerful tool for health.
Positive thoughts and talk are so important, not just with healing but in all areas of our lives. I do have daily affirmations, but I’m still a work in progress when it comes to visualization and “getting real” with it.
I am so glad you was well enough to meet up with me in London!
Glad that worked for you. I probably would have taken a hit of vitamin C because that helps me in the early stages of a cold.
