Ah, Joan. She was definitely smart enough.
I never had plan. Like Joan, I paid attention and when a door opened and invited me in, I walked through. As a result, I look back on an interesting life and a career that satisfied me, made me happy and even allowed me to save for retirement.
I was lucky. Intuitively, I knew how to differentiate between a real invitation and something that wouldn’t have been a serious choice. Many doors lead nowhere. But you don’t have to walk through them to see it.
Would you like to learn how to find the doors that lead to making your dream come true? Uncover hidden obstacles that stand in the way of having everything you like? And emerge with a roadmap and realistic plan to make your career or personal life what you want them to be?
Let’s open some doors. Shoot me an email at [email protected] and let’s talk.
So often we are unable to objectively evaluate the paths before us. Having you to help uncover the right paths is invaluable!
Sometimes I am so surprised at which doors open. I hope I always have the courage to go through the doors that open.
The late a great Joan Rivers. love the door analogy sometimes we have to brave enough to walk through the door.
This is a great reminder that we need to take more chances and opportunities. I tend to get afraid and withhold, thanks for the inspiration.
I am a huge believer in taking an opportunity when it comes knocking but as you said sometimes it doesnt take growing through the door to know it wouldn’t have gone anywhere.
This is the “nudge” I needed. There are times when I am truly afraid to step out of my comfort zone. Today, I not only learned to walk through an open door, but to knock on the closed ones as well.
I am firm believer in one door closing and another opening. This is such a great post!!
I really took something from this. I really need to start taking more risks and find some new paths.
There is a lot to learn from this. You will never know if it was the right door if you never walk through it.
Poor Joan RIvers! That was a sad way she passed away. At least she lived her life to the fullest though. Something we should all strive to do.
It definitely can be hard to find that right door and make sure it opens for you. But it definitely is possible, you just need to not give up.
I saw a quote before and I have applied it in my life. It goes, “If opportunity does not knock, go build another door.” Open doors are opportunities given us, it is up to us to discern whether to walk through the door or not.
The doors open to opportunity and the one who crosses through emerges with flying colours. Is life not paved with different doors?
I have always been cautious going through “open doors” because not all of them are good. I made that mistake in the past and I will do everything to prevent that from happening again.
I love the quote! I will also use any opened doors and take any opportunities that I can use to reach my goals.
I need to get better at recognizing the doors that are opening for me. Sometimes my own fear of the unknown holds me back from stepping through, but if you don’t take a risk, you never know where that open door will lead you.
I haven’t viewed many things I’ve encountered as being a door I needed to open. I do believe in working to make goals, overcome obstacles and fulfill dreams.
I love the wise sayings from Joan Rivers. This one is so true. It’s wonderful that you have had the wisdom to go through the right doors. Assessing the situation in every case, is key.
Yes, I try to peek in first. But mostly I just walk through it. When you’re young, life is very forgiving!
I love when the doors are open. Even better when the doors lead to things that make you happy!
It can be hard to recognize if something is a door or a dead end. But taking chances is important if you want things to change.
Sometimes, I think the real trick is to recognize that there is an open door there. That being said, I do try to go through any door I find.
Yes, we MUST recognize it as a door!
Sometimes you have to go through windows when doors don’t open. It’s called survival. I think we often get stuck in comfort zones. Only when we are ripped from them, do we see opportunity.
I love your window comment!
My mother always said, “when one door closes another one will open”.She was a huge Joan Rivers fan too! She was probably quoting her.
I love it!
Amazing perspective on the journey of life. I am a go with the flow person but sometimes I choke at the bigger doors…stand in front of them until someone else pushes me out of the way to enter MY door. ::sigh:: Life.
I am a “fools rush in where angels fear to tread” door walker.
And sometimes you need to forget the door and look for the window!
that is a FACT!
My mother loved Joan Rivers. What a great quote. We all need to be more willing to walk through those doors.
I like the idea of this walking. through the dooor concept. I would like to think I take advantage of opportunities I am given and walk through
I always open some doors because I like to try new things. I think that’s always important! Also, having faith in yourself is a MUST!
When one door closes another one will open. Life is difficult at times. All of a sudden doors start opening up all over the place. Never give up.
