One day is worth a thousand tomorrows, Benjamin Franklin aptly pointed out.
We only have today, so be here now, Ram Dass advised.
In other words, seize the day. Carpe diem.
It’s all true and especially true when there’s more time behind us than there is in front. So why not make the most of today? And every today?
Because today is all we have.
So make your mark. Protest. Write letters. If you’re in isolation, make that time count, even if it’s “only” relaxing and taking care of yourself. (“Only’ is in quotes because self-care is quite important. Maybe the most important thing because it gives us strength for all else.)
Carpe the hell out of this day, I say.
Who’s with me?
More and more, each day is precious. One of the gifts of growing older.
Yes. And of course, youth is soo wasted on the young.
I absolutely agree!
My daughter says this all the time: Carpe the hell out of this diem!
Great minds obviously think alike!!!
She sounds very very wise! 😉
