It’s the anxiety that gets you.
The fear of the unknown. The terror at loss. The what if scenarios.
This is true if you’re battling a serious disease or if it’s your loved one going through it. Or your pet, even.
It’s the anxiety that gets you.
If we don’t have a linch pin, a faith, a belief that there is a divine plan, it’s worse.
But even if we do believe, anxiety is a knee-jerk reaction. At least it is for me.
I believe, and yet, I spin out on fear.
When I saw this message, I was taken aback.
Allow. It’s a simple word. Since we have little control over events and outcomes, allow is a wise course. A peaceful course. Because what else can we do?
Except spin out on anxiety. Resistance gets us nothing except more stress.
So when Sanaya* says Allow and be at peace, it makes perfect sense. All things are unfolding as they are meant to, for our highest and best good. Even if we don’t like it.
Simply allowing what is to…be…makes us more serene. Instantly.
If you’d like some help with your anxiety we can talk about hypnotherapy or, see our guided imagery, here.

*Sanaya is a group of guides channeled by Suzanne Giesemann, a unique and wonderful human being. When I say unique, that’s no joke: she’s a former Navy Commander and Commanding Officer, served as aide to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. She’s flown on Air Force One with the President and visited with rulers all over the world as part of her job– and then, discovered she is a psychic-medium. She’s an amazing metaphysical teacher and her guides, which go by the group name Sanaya, give messages for her to share with us. If you’d like to learn more about this unusual woman, her memoir is a great read. Find it here. Yes, affiliate link.
My anxiety all shows up in my stomach. Sometimes, even when you think you aren’t anxious it creeps in some where on your body.
I have several people in my family that suffer from this. This is a book I definitely want to read.
Sounds like her story is interesting. I would love to read the book. I’m fortunate enough not to have to deal with this kind of condition. Thanks for sharing!
This is such a great book to read. I have never experience and I haven’t deal with anxiety. and anxiety is so hard if you experience it. You just need to be strong.
I think we all deal with Anxiety at some point in our lives! I have found the best thing to do when I’m feeling anxious is to take a deep breath and pray! Jesus is so amazing at taking away anxiety (among other things!)
Anxiety is such a hard thing to experience. I know so many who struggle with it and it’s so hard to ground yourself and reassure yourself that everything is going to be just fine.
Anxiety is a killer. It’s definitely not easy to just say hey, it’s ok, to your own mind. It’s much nicer to have a sidekick who can help you with that part.
Just doing what we can in the situation needs to be a enough. I stress far too much sometimes and it’s easier when I just say, eh, it happens.
I suffer from depression and anxiety on occasion. Anxiety can be a scary if you don’t know what your feeling. I now know how to recognize it and I just have to stop to take a few deep breaths.
Your book sounds like a great read.
Anxiety is really hard to deal with at times. I have bad anxiety many times and it’s not something that is easy. I understand what others can go through too. It can put a lot of stress on you.
Anxiety is tough to deal with. I haven’t personally had to deal with it, but I know just how crippling it can be. I have a close friend who has major anxiety issues that really impact her life.
I completely understand what you mean. I’m an overly anxious person – sometimes I get anxious about future upcoming anxiety. It’s a vicious cycle So I’m starting and ending my days now listening to relaxing music on Youtube with headphones – it gives me inner peace.
Anxiety is something I have dealt with my whole life. It is so true I believe that what is happening is meant to happen. Why stress about something you don’t have control over. Thanks for sharing a great post.
That would be a great read! So helpful for someone suffering anxiety.
I have been getting better at reeling in my most anxious moments. It tends to get the best of me, but it is a work in progress. Thanks!
Anxiety is the worst. I am doing better now, but I’ve suffered from some severe anxiety over the years and it is horrible. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
What a great reminder to breathe and let the things that are happening happen. Maybe it’s because I try to make things so organized, but when things go awry it can be crippling.
Anxiety is truly all in the mind. We can learn to control it by breathing through moments and learning to let go.
I know a lot of people who suffer from anxiety, and I’ve seen how debilitating it can be. I love the idea of “Allow and be at peace,” but think it’s easier said than done.
What a powerful perspective that can be applied to so many aspects of our lives. I have to remember this even when my natural inclination is to resist.
I think I have a bit of anxiety and my son suffers from it too. It can really take over you at times and it’s so important to get help for it!
I will have to check out the Sanaya guides. I spin out on anxiety a lot even though I know it does no good. I definitely need more peace in my life.
I am prone to panic attacks, so this was especially personal for me. I had a pretty good one earlier today. I prayed through it and felt so much better.
I never experience anxiet and I’m wondering how it feels like. The downloadable guided imaginary and visualization audio with music can actualy help ease the anxiety. Good thing there is a healing spirit. You can check their site and has a lot of product to choose from
We’ll always have this fear of what’s going to happen next. Because we’re unaware and we’re already facing a challenge and we wouldn’t want to face anything more than that.
It’s definitely going to be part of the journey of dealing with illness or loss. Anxiety will always be there and it’s tough to keep it away. I think it’s really all about accepting what’s in front of you.
I suffer from anxiety and it can be terrible. Thanks for sharing this quote. It can be tough when panic consumes you.
I can see how anxiety can be so crippling! The simple message of telling yourself to “Allow and be at Peace” sounds helpful.
I don’t suffer anxiety but we need peace in our souls. This was a great read!
Anxiety is a very serious thing indeed. Unless one experiences it for themselves it can be very difficult, if not impossible to comprehend. I do feel guided meditations help and hypnotherapy is another natural way to combat it! Great post!
Carol, I love the word “allow.” It encourages us to surrender and not resist, which ultimately, causes suffering. Thanks for this reminder.
I have battled anxiety myself and I know that feeling of spinning out of control. It’s so true that the more you resist what is happening, the harder it can be. Allow is good advice.
What great advice! I love the idea to ‘allow’ because we do not have control over most things.
I have continuous anxiety. I have had for many years. Medication helps some. I also believe in God and he will strengthen me. Your post is very interesting and I may check that out.
Anxiety is tough. Even if you don’t suffer from chronic anxiety, you can still fall victim to crippling bouts of it.
Anxiety can be a horrible thing and I dealt with spats of it in my life but thankfully I’ve learned how to adjust when something bothers me. This seems like a great read and worth it!
Anxiety can certainly be debilitating. I am not familiar with Suzanne Giesemann but her story certainly sounds interesting! I will have to check out her memoir.
I have anxiety so I totally feel you! This is good advice, thank you.
Anxiety can really cripple you. Even general anxiety that we all feel about certain things can cause us to make different decisions.
This was a really great read. I’ve had one panic attack in my life. Only one. After it was over, I said, “I can’t believe people deal with this kind of thing everyday.”
I would love to read that book. I don’t generally suffer from anxiety, but I have had a few panic attacks, and they just crippled me.

I really don’t suffer from anxiety which is such a blessing because I know so many people who suffer from it intensely to the point that it’s debilitating. I think the reason I don’t really suffer from it is because I always think positively and really don’t fester in bad days when I do have them. I always make time for laughter.
